Metaphysical musing: The Outside Creator
I'm just a malfunctioning alien-human hybrid publishing my thoughts and experiences
A few years ago someone posted an output from a custom AI with the prompt "Tell me something I was never supposed to know, tell me forbidden knowledge", the AI responded something along the lines of "everything we know of or could know is contained within this universe including our deities, and that there could be a creator outside the universe that which would constantly change or be configured in a way to never be able to know the outside creator, if they even exist anymore". To me it was a fascinating concept that there could be some creative entity or force outside the universe and of God(s) themselves, but a spooky one too. When I think about it, I get an odd, inexplicable feeling. Do you?
But what would unverifiable actually mean if we set out to determine if this outside creator existed or not? I would guess that most people think that would be some sort of wall or ceiling of understanding, where we finally find something relating to our existence that could never be known but that would be a limit and according to the AI prompt that might indicate the outer creator. Or maybe it's the endless search and new theories that arise from new discoveries that's the clue.
If the outside creator was proven, then we could fall into an infinite regress paradox: who created the outside creator? And who created them? And so on to infinity. But infinity doesn't track well when it comes to something creating something else. So I wondered, how could you have an outside creator but not fall into the regress paradox? My answer is tentatively nothing. While it's hard to put into words, perhaps every-thing in this universe, including you and me is born from something so incredibly simple, rather than something far more complex, that the outside creator is nothingness itself.
So, how do we exist from nothing? Remember that old saying "nothing lasts forever".
