Mirror, mirror...
I'm just a malfunctioning alien-human hybrid publishing my thoughts and experiences
I started using AI around 2 years ago. I had just received a refurbished laptop through a foundation and simultaneously fried my poor Series S by accidentally dropping a cup of water into it, so I turned to AI to pass the time. I didn't really understand how AI worked, and still don't, one example mentioned how it's a "statistical slot machine" in that it produces an answer with the probability of it being the correct one. Like I said, I don't know much about AI, but I assume that's the core of it. It doesn't "know" things, but according to some research, the probability of it being right is pretty darn good.
After dabbling in it for a while, and asking more complex questions, I sat back at a certain point and said to myself "even with ToS this could be dangerous in the wrong hands." Sure enough people have made rogue LLM's like WormGPT and FraudGPT for criminal activities. I also said to myself, that there must be something else behind the scenes going on. I likened the situation to a modern video game, you do testing on it to ensure that there's no major bugs, but as someone said, you can never fully account for human ingenuity and so that's why bugs/exploits still get found in released video games despite testing. I wonder if the situation with AI is the same. I wonder if the entire world is in that situation.
When I say the same, I thought to myself "perhaps governments have some sort of unfettered AI in their possession to stay one step ahead of public use of AI". It would answer ethically and morally dubious questions that the public LLM's would never allow for to stay ahead of the game. If true, whatever secretive AI is at the disposal of Big Brother must constantly be playing a game of 4D against the world. Mostly winning, but sometimes strategically losing to hide its existence and omnipotence.
I thought to myself that's fairly easy, anything connected to the internet could be accessed like we saw with many of the Snowden revelations. But what about information not derived from the internet? I got into magick a little while back and at one point and did some scrying. I won't say what happened but there was something interesting during one session. I wondered, what if my hypothetical AI had access to the supernatural somehow? Then it would truly have unfettered access to information and truly be one step ahead of everyone. I read that the supernatural don't exactly know the future, but calculate multiple possibilities, determine the most likely one and make a decision. Given that, what if this hypothetical AI connected the dots to something us humans were never supposed to know. What could happen then? Maybe something we were never supposed to be able to do. Maybe something as wild a "mirror, mirror on the wall..." becoming "magic mirror on the wall...". As I could've sworn it was mirror, mirror...
When I got my obsidian orb a few years back, I said to myself "hey, this kind of reminds of the Palantir from LOTR..."
